Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor in Seattle & Tacoma, WA
Mitsubishi is the brand we install more than any other, and the accreditation behind it is what takes your warranty to 12 years. Here is what the status means, what it gets you, and how we make sure you actually receive it.
Mitsubishi is what we propose first, and we can show the work. Eleven of the thirty-two jobs photographed on this site are Mitsubishi, and every photograph is from a job of ours rather than a catalogue. We are licensed, bonded and insured in Washington, and the assessment that tells you what your house actually needs is free.
Where we stand today
We are completing this accreditation and expect it in October 2026. Until the certificate is in our hands we will not register a system for the 12-year term, and we will say so before you book rather than after.
Everything else on this page is in place today. Our accreditation page says exactly where we are and how to check it.
What a Diamond Contractor Is
The program is run by Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US, the joint venture that brings the equipment to this market. The manufacturer describes it as a multi-stage qualification process: not a registration a company applies for, but training and review it has to pass and then keep passing as the product line changes.
There are three levels: Diamond Contractor®, Preferred Diamond Contractor and Elite Diamond Contractor. They differ in volume and in scorecard performance, not in the equipment: a contractor at any level installs the same systems from the same factory.
What accreditation actually allows a contractor to do comes down to three things.
Register Your System for 12 Years
Instead of the manufacturer’s standard terms. The conditions and the deadline are below, because they decide whether you actually receive it.
Stay Current on Equipment and Rebates
Ductless equipment changes faster than most of this trade, and so do the incentive programmes attached to it. The training covers both.
Appear in the Manufacturer’s Directory
The useful part for you: the status is something you look up, not something a website asserts. Where we stand, and how to check it.
Twelve Years on Parts and Compressor
Mitsubishi Electric extends its residential product warranty to 12 years when a Diamond Contractor installs the system: parts for 12 years and the compressor for 12 years. Without that accreditation the shorter standard terms apply, and they are set out in the manufacturer’s current warranty statement rather than here, because that document is reissued and a number copied onto this page would quietly go out of date.
On a ductless system the compressor is the expensive part and it lives outside, through the wet months. It is the component you most want covered for the longest time, and that is the whole practical value of the longer term.
The accreditation is also training: contractors in the program are taught the equipment directly by the manufacturer, and are kept current as the product line changes. On a ductless install that shows up in the parts you never think about, the line-set work and the commissioning.
The same training covers rebates and utility programmes. Which equipment qualifies for federal, state and local incentives changes from year to year, and so do the amounts; contractors in the program are kept current on it. We check what your configuration qualifies for at the assessment, before the quote. The manufacturer keeps a rebate finder by postcode if you would rather look first.
Two Conditions, and Who Takes Care of Them
- A single-family home. The extended term applies to residential single-family installations. If your property is something else, we will tell you at the assessment which terms apply to you, in writing, before there is a quote to sign.
- Registration within 90 days of the install. The system has to be registered with the manufacturer inside that window, and that is the installer’s job, not the homeowner’s.
So here is how we handle it. We register the system as part of closing the job, not as something to get round to later, and we send you the confirmation together with your invoice. You end up holding the proof yourself, which is the point: a warranty you can evidence is worth more than one you were told about.
Ask us for that confirmation if it has not arrived. Ask any other installer the same, and ask for the registration date. It is a fair question with a one-sentence answer.
Eleven Mitsubishi Jobs, Photographed
An accreditation says a manufacturer trained the company. Photographs say what it has actually done. These are ours, on real jobs, not from a catalogue. See all eleven on the brand page.
What the Manufacturer Covers, and What We Do
- Labour is separate, and ours is three years. The manufacturer covers its parts and its compressor. The visit to diagnose a fault and fit the covered part is our side of it, and our own labour warranty runs three years. Both belong in your written quote, so the two are never confused.
- Workmanship is ours, not the factory’s. A warranty on a component says nothing about the install around it. That is what our licence, bond and insurance are for, and the numbers are published on the licensing page for you to check.
- Maintenance keeps the cover alive. Filters, coil cleaning and the annual check are what keep a claim valid, and our maintenance visit covers exactly that. We will tell you what the system needs and how often, in plain terms.
- The accreditation does not change your price. Training costs us time, not you a surcharge. What moves the installed figure is the equipment, the line-set run, the electrical work and the condition of the house, and those are on the pricing page with real numbers rather than a form to fill in.
Why Homeowners Choose Us
FAQ: Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor
Who runs the Diamond Contractor program?
Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US, the joint venture that brings the equipment to this market. It is a manufacturer’s accreditation, not a government licence and not a trade association membership.
Are there different levels in the program?
Three: Diamond Contractor, Preferred Diamond Contractor and Elite Diamond Contractor. They differ in volume and in scorecard performance, not in the equipment: a contractor at any level installs the same systems from the same factory.
Is the 12-year warranty automatic?
No. Two conditions come with it: the system has to be in a single-family home, and it has to be registered with the manufacturer within 90 days of the install. Registration is the installer’s job. We do it as part of closing the job and send you the confirmation with your invoice.
What happens if the system is not registered in time?
The extended term does not apply and the manufacturer’s standard terms stand instead. Nothing is visible on the day it is missed: the system runs normally, and the shortfall only surfaces years later when a part fails. Ask any installer for the registration date and a copy of the confirmation.
Does the warranty cover labour?
No. The manufacturer covers its parts and its compressor. The visit to diagnose a fault and fit the covered part is the contractor’s side of it. Our own labour warranty runs three years, and both are stated in your written quote.
Does an accredited installer cost more?
No. Accreditation costs the contractor training time, not the customer a surcharge. What moves the installed price is the equipment, the line-set run, the electrical work and the condition of the house.
Are there rebates on this equipment?
Often, through federal, state, local and utility programmes, but which equipment qualifies and by how much changes from year to year. We check what your configuration qualifies for at the assessment, before the quote, and the manufacturer keeps a rebate finder you can search by postcode.
