Very little: $6,900 for 3 ton, $6,940 for 4 ton, $6,980 for 5 ton. Sizing is a comfort decision, not a budget one, and we size the unit to the house.
When is the $1,400 electrical work needed?
On a new installation, when 220V has to be brought to the outdoor unit. A straight replacement of an existing air conditioner does not carry that line.
Can I replace the furnace at the same time?
Yes, and doing both in one visit is cheaper than two separate jobs. It adds $4,200 for an 80% AFUE furnace or $5,300 for a 96% one.
